Douglas K. Goldwater graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000 with dual B.A. degrees, in Legal Studies and Mass Communications. At Berkeley Doug was extensively involved with the re-founding of the Berkeley chapter of his fraternity. Doug took a year off between obtaining his undergraduate degrees and entering law school. During that year he worked at a movie production company and began bartending at nights. In the fall of 2001, Doug enrolled at the University of Southern California Law School. During his time at USC Law, Doug was an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation and Phi Alpha Delta, in addition to becoming the Notes Editor of the USC Interdisciplinary Law Journal. He received his J.D. degree in May of 2004 and was admitted to the California Bar in December of 2004.

Doug grew up in the Conejo Valley and returned home to Ventura County after graduating law school. Doug joined Ferguson Case Orr Paterson as a litigation associate in 2004 and is currently a member of the Ventura County Bar Association. Doug is also on the Board of the Ventura County Barristers and a member of the Ventura County Family Law Bar Association.  He practices all areas of business and commercial litigation, family law, and intellectual property. Doug presently lives in Oxnard with his wife, Rachel. When he's not working, Doug enjoys cycling, playing softball and soccer, and watching movies.
