Joshua Burt recently joined Ferguson Case Orr Paterson in the Spring of 2008 after almost 6 years of practice at the Los Angeles office of Washington, D.C. based Howrey LLP.  His practice focuses primarily on intellectual property matters including trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, copyright and trade secret matters.  Joshua’s experience includes both domestic and international trademark prosecution.  Joshua graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physiological Sciences and received his law degree from the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago in 2002. 

Before attending law school, Joshua worked as a Study and Lab Coordinator for the Los Angeles Area Research Council in conjunction with the National Institute of Drug Addiction.  Joshua researched the effects of long-lasting Methamphetamine addiction on brain activity. While an undergraduate at UCLA, Joshua was also actively involved in studying the effects of Alzheimer's Disease on the human brain.
