Mark Barney graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1986 with a BA degree in English Literature. He earned his law degree from Santa Clara University in 1989 and is certified to practice in both California and Colorado. After graduation, Mark remained in Northern California where he helped to form the business law department at a firm in Redwood City. In 1992, Mark moved to Colorado where he spent three years as a transactional associate with the Denver firm of Vinton Slivka & Panasci. Mark returned to his native Ventura County in 1995 and joined England, Whitfield, Schroeder & Tredway where he further developed his transactional practice. Mark joined Ferguson Case Orr Paterson LLP in 2001 and became a Partner in 2003.
Mark's transactional practice focuses primarily on forming and advising business entities including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Mark has considerable experience with real estate syndications, commercial condominium associations, business mergers and acquisitions, business financings, and nonprofit tax exempt organizations.
When not practicing law, Mark enjoys traveling, hiking and playing basketball.
